So my hp dv6000 laptop (don't diss it) has had black screen of death for 3 or so months and after repeated attempts to boot the system via a program on a disc and even taking it apart (its out of warrenty due to the store going out of business last year) and trying to resoder the faulty part; I'm left with two options.
1: I can get a new motherboard for it online for around $130 or get one from hp for about $250.
2: I could go shopping for a new laptop, which will cost more then the motherboard obviously but I would rather not spend so much when the motherboards are avalible.
So I wanted to see if anyone might have any recomendations on what to do. Thanks in advance.

At this point i would just buy a NEW one. Not worth fixing it. and you don't even know that it will work.

lol, all this money in repairs will add up to a new laptop :p
If this was a desktop, it would be easier to fix (in my opinion), but since it laptop go for a nice new one. No Mac though, to expensive =]
