Might be a bit behind on the news but I just saw this on the bungie page today, took me by surprise.

I guess they weren't lying when they said they would become a multi-platform company.

The worst thing Bungie could have done was leave the Microsoft family. MS has $$$ and the Funding to provide them with what ever they need. To bad bungie. Microsoft was also smart and bought the Halo IP. Meaning M$ owns the rights to Halo. Yet another EPIC move by M$. Halo Will continue to make money for the next 20 years.

I think it's a brilliant move on Bungie's part to be honest. Halo is being developed now by 343 Industries (where Shishka went). Bungie was done with Halo, a decade on one series was too much for them. They are now going to make a crapton more money off all the PS3/PC fanboys as well as their beloved 360 buyers. Microsoft had nothing to do with this stack, they own the Halo rights not Bungie. Bungie is partnered with Activision now.

I know M$ didn't buy bungie. Wouldn't be worth it. M$ owns what matters the IP rights to Halo. They can have anyone create the game. Activision is internally falling apart. with all the mergers and firing thats going on there. I don't see a bright future for bungie after Halo. Each game got progressively worse after halo 2. There 1st game that comes out people will buy cause its bungie but other than that I see them falling into the standard game area. 343 will be the new big name. I know ill be buying the next Halo from 343.

Pretty much this, even if they're expanding to the PS3, it doesn't mean the game will be exclusive to the PS3 console.

Bungie will never be a standard company. Them, Bioware, and Epic Games will never be simply standard. These genii are pro at whatever they do.

Man, i'd hate to have Bungie work on the PS3 because i'd hate to see a scenario play out like this.
-Join in on PS3 Dev.
-Create great multi-platform games
-Break under Sony pressure, make PS3 exclusive
-Force me to try to buy a PS3 for the THIRD time

Because you know Sony would do it. They're desperate to push people towards PS3 and they're big enough to shove other companies to do it.

At the very least we can be glad EA didn't get there hands on Bungie. They are worse then Activision, who hopefully understands what console exclusive means. EA just made Bioware release Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 in January next year.

Back on topic, it will be interesting to see 343's ideas for the future Halo games.
