Community Events (CE) is a new edition to HaloTech, offering all sorts of fun online events to chat and even get to know new people in the Xbox Live Community. CE is a great way to meet knew people, get cool prizes, and have a fun on a boring weekend. Events are hosted by others from the community or hosted by us! Make sure to check our certified checklist if you want to play a game hosted by HaloTech Representatives.
HaloTech Representatives are fun, outgoing people chosen by the HaloTech Administrators to run events weekly and biweekly. Events will consists of prizes such as Microsoft Points, Cookies, Custom User Title, VIP, and more! We host games for fun, to fundraiser for charitable events, and more! If you have a great idea on an event and want us to host it, contact any Representative on the certified list.
CE is just recently added to HaloTech and may contain bugs and faulty user permissions which we ask you report to us. In addition, we are giving Host's 5 cookies, instead of just 1, for posting an event!
Note: All events get placed in the calendar (http://halotech.org/calendar.php) once submitted by the Host.
FAQ
How to Host an event?
To host an event you must be logged in. Then create a new thread in the "Community Events" forum. The "Create A Thread" for this section turns into an event creator. From there you can supply a date, number of available slots, description, and so on.
Hosting An Event Just For Cookies?
If you host dud games just for cookies you will be placed under restricted access. You will no longer be able to create events or gain more cookies. There is also an additional fine of 2000 cookies.
Hosting An Event With Prizes?
Hosting an event that gives away prizes. As a participant, be careful. This is a public event forum and if you win and don't get anything, that's up to the Host's discretion. If the event is hosted by a certified HaloTech Rep, then you will be guaranteed a prize if such an event is to have them.
Joining An Event, Then Not Showing Up?
If you know ahead of time that you will not be able to attend, please back out for someone who can. If you don't show up to an event and did not cancel you will be fined 500 cookies from your account.
Host Does Not Show Up?
If a Host decides to not show up, they may hand over the Host powers to another user. Though that user will not get the 5 extra cookies for making an event. So, it may cost you ;). If no host shows up, the Host will be given a warning. Second offense gets your account put under restricted access.
Charging For An Event?
Only HaloTech Rep's may charge for an event. Public events MUST be free.
Setting A Reminder For An Event?
You may set a reminder for an event to Private Message your account.
Hosting An Event Which Can Not Hold Everyone In A Game Type?
This is mainly for the Host. Don't create an event with unlimited people if you can only fit 16 people, including yourself, into a game.
Can I award winners a special position/rank/group/cookies/user title on HaloTech?
No. You must be a HaloTech Rep, though you could try and contact an admin for permission. After game links must be accessible from your Bungie Account to view scores.
